Once you have filled in all the details correctly and attached all the required documents to prove your identity and residence in UK, you will need to attach 2 identical photos of yourself with your application. Again there are certain guidelines you must follow while attaching the photos as mentioned in the rules about passport photos. Keep in mind that your application may get delayed if your photos are not as per the guidelines or get rejected by the officials.
You will also need a counter sign on your form and 1 of your photos to prove your identity. You can find the list of people who can counter sign for you here.
Once the form is filled accurately and the photos are attached perfectly, double check the overall form for any errors in spelling or detailing. If everything is correct, click for online payment. You can make the payment using your credit card or debit card instantly.
After the successful payment, Her Majesty’s Passport Office will soon contact you for a personal interview. You will receive a letter informing about the passport interview from Her Majesty’s Passport Office. You just need to call them and fix an appointment for an interview at any of their offices.
Make sure you choose the office that is most convenient to you as you may not be able to get the appointment at the exact time and date you asked for.
The interview generally lasts for 30 minutes in which you will be asked to confirm the facts that you have mentioned in the application form online. The agenda here is to check whether someone is trying to steal your identity or not by asking to confirm such facts that only you will be able to answer. To secure your privacy, Her Majesty’s Passport office will destroy any personal information used during the interview shortly after the Passport is issued to the applicant.
Once the interview is over, you can login to the official website and track your application status online.
